Treatment of Children

Children with asthma can be treated using acupuncture at any age. Nicole Stern recommends the following program for effective results. Each individual may vary slightly but this is the routine that Ms. Stern has found effective in treating childhood asthma from infants to children up to the age of 18:

Initial visit – you will need to bring any relevant health documents and complete a new health history with Ms. Stern. Time will be about one to one and a half hours for this session.

6 weeks in a row of visiting once a week (it is very important that this be consistent)

After the initial 6 weeks patients should plan on 4 additional weeks every other week.

Ms. Stern cannot guarantee that all children will be completely asthma free but her experience in successfully treating children has shown that when following the above routine they can reduce medications and live active lives.
